Many little breeds, including Terriers, are often described as "big dogs in little bodies" because of their "tough guy" attitude, including Jack Russell Terriers, Parson Russell Terriers and Russell Terriers.  As previously mentioned, breeding a Terrier to a Poodle tends to soften the Terrier temperament, in their offspring,  yet still keep their darling qualities.  Another benefit is that most tend to be low to moderate shedding and have a higher probability of being hypoallergenic than a purebred Terrier.

Our Jackapoos are a blending of a female Jack Russell Terrier, or a female Parson Russell Terrier or a female Russell Terrier WITH a male Poodle.  The resulting puppies are 50% Terrier & 50% Poodle.  We have also, at times, used a female Jackapoo to produce puppies who are 25% Terrier & 75% Poodle for those who are looking for a Jackapoo that is closest to non shedding & hypoallergenic.

Because the Jackapoo (like the Jackiepoo), is a blending of more than one breed, the puppies in a litter are all little "individuals" similar to the siblings in a human family.  There may be some familiarity but each one has it's own unique look.

Whenever we bring new blood into our program we spend MUCH time (usually several months) in research looking for just the right dogs.  This was certainly the case with our 2 male Parti-Poodles.  Kaspian (11.5 pounds) is AKC registered and was selected for his laid back, affectionate, non-yappy, calm temperament.  He is also extremely smart, does many tricks, walks across the room on his hind legs, and dances.  Chip (7 Pounds) is AKC registered, also very intelligent, calm, obedient, quiet and sweet natured.  Our Terrier females & Jackapoo females, though different in personality, are all very loving and intelligent.  All of the puppies are highly socialized and handled on a daily basis.  Our females are 9 to 15 pounds. The female's heights are:  approximately 8 inches to 13 inches at the shoulder.

Jackson, one of our puppies who lives with his owners in California, has been trained to be a Medical Assistance Dog.  2 of our female pups went on to become Emotional Support Dogs,  Other puppies are currently in or have completed agility training.  Another puppy (has been trained to run beside his owner's bike (without a leash).  Many of our clients have reported that their dogs are "super smart" and very attentive to their owners.  Some of our clients have gotten 2 and even 3 puppies from us here at StarView JackaPoos!  These dogs bring much joy to their families!

Since StarView JackaPoos only raises 2 to 4 litters per year (there can be 1 to 6 pups in a litter, with an average of 3), our puppies are handled extensively.  At approximately 6 Weeks of age they are vet checked by Dr David Mullins & the excellent staff at Midway Veterinary Hospital, who consistently compliment us on the excellent quality of our dogs.

Jackapoo puppies are NOT fragile.  They are very hardy and make great family dogs whether kept inside or out.  Our goal has always been to breed the most beautiful, intelligent, affectionate and fun family dog possible.  We believe we have done that with the Jackapoo and Jackiepoo!

We would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
